°®½´ÊÓƵ Announces $40 Million Comprehensive Campaign
Sep 29, 2025°®½´ÊÓƵ President Gary A. Olson announced the launch of a $40 million comprehensive campaign — Moving Forward: The Campaign for °®½´ÊÓƵ’s Future — a pivotal fundraising campaign to elevate academic excellence, prepare tomorrow’s leaders, and enhance university infrastructure over the next five years, during °®½´ÊÓƵ’s Annual Scholarship Gala on Friday, Sept. 26.
The campaign, co-chaired by °®½´ÊÓƵ trustees John R. Yurtchuk, chairman of Genesis Development and Construction, and Scott Bieler, president and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group, is the institution’s second comprehensive campaign, and marks a significant increase from its first-ever $22 million comprehensive campaign launched in 2017, which exceeded its fundraising goal by $4.5 million.
Yurtchuk and Bieler believe in the strategic vision of Olson and his Cabinet, saying, “We have experienced first-hand the impact the institution has had not only on students’ personal and professional growth, but also on the greater community. We are confident °®½´ÊÓƵ will continue to inspire generations to change the world.â€
Olson echoes that sentiment, as do those in the community. “Our donors trust that °®½´ÊÓƵ’s future and sustainability are worth their investment,â€ he said. “Many have already stepped up to help us invest in the campus of the future, and I look forward to collaborating with them to continue to raise the academic bar and create the most promising future for our students.â€
Olson and his wife, Dr. Lynn Worsham, are embodying these words by pledging a $1 million donation in bequest — their second million dollar gift to the university. “We both are thoroughly dedicated to °®½´ÊÓƵ, our students, and our faculty and staff, and we couldn’t think of a more deserving organization than this wonderful university,â€ Olson said.
